Our extended family and friends have been visiting the Disney area for years and have chosen to stay at Windsor Hills for the past five years.
Our experience with this particular home was exceptional for a number of reasons. The house itself is very well maintained (with good quality A/C) and, based on different experiences, there is no comparison to the SOUTH FACING POOL! Even on cooler days in winter the pool area is positioned to receive maximum sunlight which can make or break a holiday if January/February is a bit cool. The lanai also provides ample shade and furniture for the whole group during exceptionally hot days.
The owners have taken care to provide comfortable furniture and beds as well as outfitting the kitchen so that cooking is relatively hassle free.
One of the things we like most is that there are THREE KING BEDS! Each couple in our group had their own master bedroom. That has been difficult to find over the years with this particular layout so it is a huge plus. We have stayed in the 6 bedroom home in Windsor Hills to get three king beds but did not like the layout of the house nearly as much as this one.
CEILING FANS AND TV’S IN ALL THE BEDROOMS make a big difference in terms of individual comfort. In a large group, if you need time away, the master suites are like a private den for each couple.
We also love the recliner sofas in the living room!
On our last trip there was a problem with the pool heater(as with any rental home small issues can pop up) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the owner responded to my request for assistance(not always the case based on other rentals) and the problem got resolved without too much fuss.
Windsor Hills has a fairly decent workout facility(but no free weights) for adults and a terrific pool/clubhouse which kids really enjoy! They love the water slide! While we were there they had planned activities for the kids and a magician.
Our whole group would highly recommend this home (whether you have kids or not) and we already have it rented again for next year!
You do not need to go to Disney to enjoy your holiday. Old Town/Fun Spot, mini-put golf, Orlando Science Center, Cagan Crossing Library, Gatorland all have great activities for younger children at a fraction of the price of Disney. Legoland was neat to see once. Cirque Du Soleil at Downtown Disney is incredible! Bowling at Splitsville is also fun at Downtown Disney.
